Valens’ VA6000 Chipset Expands the HDBaseT Possibilities in the AV Market

At InfoComm 2018, Valens, the developer of HDBaseT and co-founder of the HDBaseT Alliance, will be showcasing how the VA6000 HDBaseT integrated circuit, originally developed for the Automotive market, is benefitting the audiovisual sector, with its transmission of 1Gbps Ethernet, Audio, Serial Control, and USB over unshielded single twisted pair lightweight and lower cost cables (as opposed to the traditional 4-pair Category cable).

The VA6000 is a more cost-effective and compact option for many applications such as interactive touch kiosks, USB extensions for conference rooms, IP-based video walls and video-on-demand entertainment systems. The VA6000 supports both point-to-point and daisy-chain topologies, leading to lower chip and connector counts and increased flexibility in system design.

The VA6000 brings clear benefits to the audiovisual sector:

  • Top performance, with near-zero latency transmission for the best end-user experience;
  • Feature-rich capabilities, supporting multiple simultaneous streams of multimedia content;
  • Highly robust and EMC-resistant solution, with adaptive mechanisms to handle noise, cable aging, temperature changes and more, with no need for cable grounding.
  • Extension of USB2.0 or 1GbE for 100ft

“Valens continues to expand its portfolio of HDBaseT integrated circuits, catering to the market’s different needs and demands,” said Gabi Shriki, Head of Valens’ Audio Video Business. “The VA6000 is a smaller, cheaper chipset, and it enables symmetric transmission over an unshielded single twisted pair cable, an ideal and low-cost solution for tight spaces.”

Valens’ VA6000 capabilities will be showcased at the HDBaseT Alliance’s stand at InfoComm 2018 (Stand C23000), in Las Vegas, NV. To schedule a meeting with a Valens representative at the show, please contact [email protected].

The VA6000 is commercially available.
