US Pay-TV Lost 559,000 Customers in Q1

As reported by the informitv Multiscreen Index, the top 10 television service providers in the US lost 559,000 customers between them in the first quarter of this year, representing a quarterly subscriber loss of 0.63%, which is the largest loss seen so far. It equates to a loss of 162,000 subscribers for the top 10 services in the previous quarter and a small gain of 18,000 compared to the first quarter of 2016.

The 10 service providers in the table still have 87.93 million subscribers between them and account for 75% of all TV homes in the US. Individual service provider figures for the quarter, and comparisons with the same quarter in 2016, are as follows:
