US Army Enhances Training with Upgraded Helmet Mounted Display

The US Army has selected a new version of Rockwell Collins’ SimEye Helmet-Mounted Display to be used in its Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer systems. A total of 332 helmet-mounted displays will be upgraded during the project, which is expected to be completed in October 2019.

The contract, issued by the US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation, is intended to improve the displays’ optical performance, increase availability and provide substantial life-cycle cost savings due to lower maintenance requirements.
