UniPixel, Inc., a provider of advanced touch solutions to the touchscreen and flexible electronics markets, today announced the addition of a new customer, a leading Japanese PC manufacturer, with design wins for two new notebooks. The two new notebooks will feature UniPixel’s XTouch and Diamond Guard technologies.
The announcement of these two new programs brings to 14 the number of unique device design wins from multiple customers announced by UniPixel thus far in calendar 2016. One device will be an 11.6″ 2-in-1 convertible notebook that will leverage XTouch metal mesh touch sensor technology to deliver superior active stylus performance. The other device, also featuring an 11.6″ screen, will take advantage of XTouch’s ability to support extremely thin cover lenses to deliver one of the world’s thinnest and lightest notebook PCs. Both programs are expected to enter production during the third quarter of 2016.
Jeff Hawthorne, president and chief executive officer of UniPixel, said, “We are pleased to add an important new customer in a very dynamic international market. The addition of this customer reflects growing global industry awareness of the ability of our XTouch and Diamond Guard technologies to deliver superior finger touch and stylus performance while also enabling some of the thinnest and lightest new products coming to market. These technologies provide a tremendous advantage to computer manufacturers who are targeting the increased use of touchscreens in their devices and making them more cost effective.”
