Dr. Julie Brown, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Universal Display Corporation (UDC), known for its OLED technology and materials, is set to receive the esteemed Daniel J. Epstein Engineering Management Award from the University of Southern California’s Viterbi School of Engineering. The award celebrates Dr. Brown’s significant professional achievements and her distinguished contributions to engineering management.
Having joined Universal Display Corporation in 1998, Dr. Brown has led the company’s research and development from its inception, playing a critical role in the discovery, development, and commercialization of leading-edge OLED technologies. Her work has left an indelible mark on the consumer electronics industry, with the company’s technologies present in nearly all OLED devices globally. Her election to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2021, among other accolades, stands as a testament to her significant contributions to the field. Dr. Brown’s career path began at Hughes Research Laboratories, followed by roles at Raytheon Company and AT&T Bell Laboratories, after her academic tenure at Cornell University and the University of Southern California.
