Samsung holds almost a 97% share of the mobile OLED marketUBI Research says that shipments of AMOLED mobile (4″-6″) displays will exceed 300 million units this year, and 1 billion by 2019.
This year, shipments will rise 27% to 318.8 million. UBI forecasts continued growth in coming years, to 505.3 million in 2017, 902.5 million in 2018 and 1.2 billion in 2019. Shipments will grow to almost 1.4 billion in 2020.
Flexible OLED displays will lead the growth, says UBI. Rigid OLED currently holds a 78% market share, but UBI expects this to fall to 44% in 2018.
