Toshiba unveiled its Portege Z30-A notebook series in July, although we were not covering the product category as fully as we are now. All models in the series are thin (13.9 – 18mm) and lightweight (1.2kg), designed for business users. The Z30-A-1C is the latest to be released.
Featuring 4G connectivity, the laptop also boasts Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiDi wireless connectivity. It runs Windows 7 Professional on an Intel Core i5 processor, but a DVD with Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit) is bundled with the laptop.
As the unit is designed for work use, it has several business-oriented features. These include Execute Diable Bit (XD-Bit), a BIOS with Computrace support, Password Utilities, a smartcard reader, a fingerprint reader, a TPM module and a 2MP front camera. The battery will last for up to 12 hours and the device is shock-resistant and spill-proof.
The Z30-A-1C has a 13.3″ display with 1366 x 768 resolution. Internally the device has a 128GB SSD, 4GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 4400. HDMI, USB 3.0 (x3) and RJ45 ports are featured.
Toshiba is selling its new laptop now, for €1,460 ex VAT.
