Toshiba’s new Satellite notebook is the P50-C-18N: a dedicated Windows 10 model. The 15.6″ product features microphones and a dedicated Cortana button.
A Core i7 Skylake processor from Intel runs Windows 10 Home, with a 2.5GHz clock speed – with the ability to boost it to 3.1GHz. 8GB of RAM are installed, and the machine can house up to 16GB. Storage is 1TB, from an SSHD and graphics from an Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M graphics chip with Optimus technology and 4GB of VRAM.
Display resolution is 1920 x 1080 with an IPS LCD. Toshiba has built in HDMI, USB 3.0 (x3) and RJ45 ports, as well as an SD card slot.
The notebook is on sale in Europe now, for €1,050 ex VAT.
Analyst Comment
We have asked Toshiba what is ‘special’ about this model – it seems indistinguishable from many others that could be named. The UK team was not aware of it (we understand that it is being sold on the continent), and so a response was delayed. (TA)
