Germany’s Gebr. Heinemann and Unifree Dutyfree have won the tender to provide ‘International Airside Retail’ concessions at Istanbul’s new airport, due to open in 2018. Digitisation is likely to play a major role in the design.

There is a huge boom in airport building in the area from Turkey down to the UAE as countries compete to be the key stopping points and hubs between Asia and Europe.
