Sales of smartphones in Taiwan have declined for the fifth consecutive month, Digitimes Research said, citing data from local retail channels. Smartphone sales apparently fell to 490,000 units in April 2018.
In terms of shipment volume, Apple took the lion’s share with 22.6%. Samsung came in second with 19.6%, followed by Asus in third on 10.5%, Oppo in fourth with 10.3% and Sony in fifth on 8.4%, while HTC rounded out the top six with 7.2%. However, the shipment value rankings saw Sony and Asus swap places, with the former in third with 7% and the latter in fifth on 5.4%.
The iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and Oppo A73 were the top three best-selling smartphone models of the month. The remainder of the top ten was made up by the iPhone X, Oppo R11s and devices from Samsung, Sony and Asus.
