Acer reported July turnover of NT$18.2 billion ($601.4 million), a fall of 14.4% MoM but up 6.2% YoY. This brought revenue for the year to date to NT$127.8 billion ($4.23 billion), down 1.4% from last year. This improved its year-to-date figures bringing them closer to last year’s.
Gigabyte Technology posted July revenue of NT$5.85 billion ($193.7 million), up 5.6% MoM and 26.3% YoY. This brought turnover for the year to NT$33.15 billion ($1.1 billion), a rise of 11.4% YoY.
Original design manufacturer Wistron said that sales in July were slow, with lower shipments of notebooks, PCs and LCD monitors. As a result, July turnover was down 5.5% MoM to NT$65.94 billion ($2.2 billion). However, this was up 38.7% YoY. This brought revenue for the year to date to NT$427.7 billion ($14.2 billion), up 30% on the previous year. Notebook shipments in July were 1.5 million, down 16.6% MoM, while desktop PCs, LCD monitors and LCD TVs saw shipments of 1.1 million, 550,000 and 250,000 respectively.
The company says that, although it foresees slight growth for notebooks in August, other product sales will be flat, and the outlook for September is similar. However, from September, shipments of new iPhone devices are expected to improve revenue.
