‘Super IGZO’ Lowers Power Draw

Android Headlines claims that Sharp is to introduce a new type of panel called ‘Super IGZO’, to compete with high-end LCD and AMOLED smartphone displays. The new panels use an improved version of Sharp’s oxide TFTs, offering high resolution while consuming between 10% and 20% less energy than regular IGZO units. Production ‘could’ begin in early 2016, at Sharp’s Kameyama Plant No. 2.
