Last December, Stratacache acquired a 3,500 screen shopper marketing network in Lift convenience stores, taking the contract from VeriFone and it has now confirmed the deal.
Many companies have failed to make a go of putting DOOH screens in convenience stores and selling advertising, but this contract is said to be different. The idea is to upsell to customers at the point of sale when they present their basket of goods to the cashier.
The technology links the basket information, the shopper behaviour and the cashier’s performance at upselling additional items. A touchscreen at the checkout, displays relevant offers based on real-time transaction data, allowing retailers to promote additional items to every shopper. Previous results have shown the ability to grow sales by 9% to 65% using this technology.
