STMicroelectronics posted Q2 profits of $35 million, a decrease from $38 million a year earlier, on turnover of $1.76 billion, down from $1.86 billion. For the six months profit fell to $12 million from $14 million on revenue of $3.47 billion, down 5.6% from $3.69 billion. Q2 profit was improved by tax benefits. Before tax the figure was $5 million.
