SNA Displays Unveils Highest Resolution LED in Times Sq.

LED display maker, Sansi North America Displays (SNA) has unveiled the latest in its developments of LED displays in New York’s Times Square (SNA Installs New LED Display in Times Square). The 17,000 sq. ft. (1,580 m²) display has an 8mm pitch and has a total of 26.6 million pixels, the company said, as it extends to include a hotel ‘blade sign’ of 2,118 sq. ft. (197 m²) with 2 megapixels. The display will be able to show 8K content and is claimed to be the smallest pitch external display on Times Square.

The development will consists of a Marriot Edition hotel, as well as retail, food and beverage facilities.

The company said that the tolerances were 25% tighter than typical installations which caused some challenges.
