Skyworth Runs Into OLED Issues

Image: MekoSkyworth launched its newest OLED TV this year, with UltraHD resolution and HDR support. Last year, the firm said that it was aiming to sell 30,000 OLED TVs by the end of March 2016, and 200,000 a year later. According to Chinese media (quoted by the OLED Association), though, Skyworth has run into problems: partly supply-related (sourcing enough panels from LG Display) and partly poor sales. During China’s Golden Week holiday earlier this year, it only sold around 4,000 sets. Skyworth has said that high prices are to blame.
