SKY Perfect JSAT Chooses HLG for HDR

Japanese satellite operator SKY Perfect JSAT is set to launch the world’s first publicly-available UltraHD HDR broadcast on the 4th October. The channel will be free of charge and accessible to anyone with compatible equipment for receiving the SKY PerfecTV! Premium or SKY PerfecTV! Premium Hikari Service. SKY Perfect JSAT will use Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) technology, co-developed by public broadcasters NHK and BBC, for its broadcasts.
