Sky has reported its FY17 H1 results with a consolidated revenues of £6,410 mn ($8,012 mn) and operating profit of £679 mn ($849 mn), resulting in an operating margin of 10.6%. The net profit was reported at £483 mn ($604 mn).
The first half revenues were 12% higher as compared to FY16 corresponding figures while the operating profit was lower by 9% on a y-o-y basis mainly due to the increase in Premier League costs, which were up by £314 mn ($393 mn) in FY17 H1.
Overall, the management believed that the company delivered strong performance in FY17 H1 across all markets, especially Germany and Austria with contributions from subscriptions and additional revenue streams.
