The supply of Intel’s new 14-nanometer CPUs — powering the new MacBook range due to be launched in September, amongst others — is falling short of demand, according to a recent report by Digitimes.
Industry sources told the publication that the shortfall may significantly affect notebook shipments in the second half of 2018. Jason Chen, CEO of Acer, one of the notebook vendors said to be adopting the new processor, said its short supply will pose significant challenges.
