Sharp Supplies Panel for 120″ TV

China’s LeTV has produced new products in the largest and smallest ends of the consumer display market.

The uMax Super TV was unveiled at an event in Beijing, and is a 120″ LCD TV, with UltraHD resolution. Using a panel from Sharp’s G10 plant in Sakai, the TV uses a quad-core 1.4Ghz processor from MStar and a quad-core Mali GPU. It can decode HEVC content and play UltraHD at 60fps. RAM is 3GB, with 32GB of storage built in.

The TV will be made by Foxconn and will cost CNY415,000 ($65,265) ex VAT. LeTV has not released any details about availability, but the set is expected to be exclusive to China at launch.

LeTV’s other product was a new flagship all-metal smartphone, called the Le1S. It has a 5.5″ (1920 x 1080) display with an IPS panel. Android 5.0 runs on a 2.2GHz octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 processor, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The phone features a USB-C connector and dual SIM slots, supports 4G connectivity and has fast charging technology.

The Le1S will go on sale through LeTV’s website, for CNY910 ($145) ex VAT.
