Tight Curve on Samsung’s Newest Monitor

Samsung has introduced a 27″ monitor with a 1,800R curve radius, designed for both gamers and professionals. Samsung’s older curved monitors have a less pronounced 3,000R – 4,000R curve (i.e. CF591).

Based on a VA panel, the C27F591FDU features a high contrast ratio (3,000:1), low response time (3ms) and uses AMD’s Freesync technology. This eliminates screen-tearing.

As with many modern monitors, Samsung has built a flicker-free backlight and low blue light mode into the monitor. It also features a Game Mode, to brighten dark scenes. Colour gamut is 119% sRGB.

Display resolution is 1920 x 1080, with 178° viewing angles and 250 cd/m² of brightness. DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA inputs are featured, as well as two 5W speakers.

Samsung will begin to sell the monitor in mid-April, for €310 ex VAT.
