UBI Research is saying, OLED shipments for foldable phones during the second quarter of 2024 reached 9.94 million units, more than double the figures from the first quarter. While the share of OLED shipments for foldable phones was in the 5.2% range during Q2 2024, their share of sales revenue exceeded 16.3%. UBI Research projects that share will expand to 27.5% by 2028.
UBI expects OLED shipments for foldable phones to continue growing in the second half of 2024. Total shipments for the year are projected to exceed 40 million units. By 2028, foldable phones are expected to make up 9.9% of total OLED shipments for smartphones.
