The glass is being used in smartphones today, as both cover glass and substrates for flexible OLED displays. It is also used in wearables. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is providing funding to Schott and its partners, to produce ultra-thin glass on a roll for organic electronics.
