Samsung has announced that its 2024 edition of The Frame TV has been awarded the Pantone Validated ArtfulColour certification.
Pantone’s ArtfulColour validation process involves assessing whether displays can accurately simulate a range of Pantone Colour cards and SkinTone colour cards under standard illuminant D65, akin to midday light in Western or Northern Europe. The Frame TV’s achievement in this validation marks it as the first in the industry to meet these rigorous standards.
The Frame TV’s Art Mode is specifically engineered to display artwork and photographs with true-to-life colors under typical lighting conditions, such as in homes or galleries. It intelligently adjusts brightness and hues to optimize images for ambient lighting, ensuring an immersive and authentic art viewing experience.
Built on Samsung’s QLED display technology, The Frame TV had already received Pantone Validated and SkinTone Validated approvals for its precise rendering of the full Pantone SkinTone colors and the vast spectrum of colors in the Pantone Matching System (PMS). The TV’s Matte Display, which is claimed to significantly reduces glare and reflections, further enhances the viewing experience of the extensive art collection available through the Samsung Art Store.
