The Galaxy View is Samsung’s latest large tablet offering, first seen in a teaser during the company’s IFA press conference – and it is truly massive. Can an 18.4″ device even be described as a tablet? At what point does it become an all-in-one PC?
Running Android (5.1), the Galaxy View is more focused on entertainment than business, like the iPad Pro and Surface Pro 4. The dedicated video home screen centralises access to content sources
Both a kickstand and a handle are built in to the chassis, which is 11.9mm thick and weighs 2.65kg. The display – which we have heard is AMOLED – has 1920 x 1080 resolution. ‘High quality’ stereo speakers and a 5,700mAh battery – lasting up to eight hours – are built in. The tablet runs on a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, with 2GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage.
