Samsung’s new low-cost, large screen tablet, the Galaxy Tab A, was unveiled in Russia in March, and has now been confirmed for a European release.
The Tab A will come in 8″ and 9.7″ sizes, although Samsung has only confirmed the 9.7″ for a launch in Europe – or, more specifically, Germany. It is a decidedly mid-range model, with 1024 x 768 resolution and a quad-core 1.2GHz processor (Snapdragon 400/410) with 1.5GB (WiFi) or 2GB (4G) of RAM – although it will run Android 5.0.
Battery capacity is 4,200mAh on the 8″ model and 6,000mAh on the 9.7″. There is 16GB of storage, expandable to 128GB via micro-SD.
The Tab A 9.7 will be launched in Germany in May, for €250 (WiFi) and €295 (4G), ex VAT.
