Samsung has opened a new 129,000m² smartphone manufacturing facility in the Indian city of Noida, just outside Delhi. This new plant will produce up to 120 million Samsung smartphones every year, covering the company’s entire product range.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in attended the factory’s official opening ceremony.
Last month, IDC said that the Indian smartphone market saw its strongest-ever shipments during the first quarter of 2018. Earlier in the year, the company also revealed that India is the fastest-growing smartphone market among the global top 20.
