Samsung has begun rolling out AMD FreeSync support to some of its 2018 TVs, including its QLED range, allowing for smoother framerates, lower response times and less screen tearing when playing video games on a PC or an Xbox One console. The update is currently only available in the US but is believed to also be coming to Europe very soon.
As well as FreeSync, which is an Adaptive Frame Rate system, Samsung has also said it will be bringing Variable Refresh Rate features to 2018 TVs. FreeSync is supported by certain AMD graphics cards. Xbox One supports FreeSync, while its more powerful brethren Xbox One S and X also support FreeSync 2, which added support for HDR, among other new features.
