Samsung’s German division has announced that Senior Vice President, Il-Kyung Simon Sung, is to replace Sungwan Myung as President and CEO with immediate effect.
Myung recently made the move to head up the company’s Middle East branch after over three years in Germany.
New president Sung joined Samsung’s R&D team in 1987, and spearheaded several major successes for the company’s television and display business, including the launch of the company’s line of LED TVs. As VP of Europe Sales & Marketing, Samsung said that Sung made great strides to achieve and maintain Samsung’s number-one position in the European TV market.
