Samsung has revealed its new Galaxy A8 Star smartphone, due for worldwide release later this month. The dual-sim smartphone features a 6.3″ Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2220 resolution, an 80.6% screen-to-body ratio and 392 pixels per inch.
It runs Android 8.0, powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset and 4GB RAM. It includes 64GB internal storage and is expandable with a microSD card of up to 400GB.
Other features include a 24 + 16-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, face detection, HDR and geo-tagging, capable of recording in Ultra HD or Full HD, both at 30 frames per second, alongside a 24-megapixel internal camera that can record video in 1080p.
The device will be sold as the Galaxy A9 Star in China. A “lite” version will also be released with similar specs, besides a smaller 6″ display and a less powerful Snapdragon 450 chipset.
The Galaxy A8 Star is priced at 2,999 Chinese yuan (about $470).
