Samsung Designs for Home and Office

The new SF350 monitor series from Samsung is designed for workers – especially those working from home. According to the firm, monitors used in the home have two functions: they must display content well, while also looking stylish. These products are slim (no more than 10mm thick), with a patterned back. They can also be supplied with a matt black chassis, rather than the standard glossy finish.

Design isn’t everything, though. The three monitors in the series (S22F350FHU, S24F350FHU and S27F350FHU (22″, 24″ and 27″, respectively)) feature an Eye Saver mode, which lowers blue light output, and a flicker-free backlight. Eco Saver Plus lowers screen brightness and power consumption.

All three monitors use AMD’s FreeSync and have a response time of 5ms (22″) or 4ms (G2G) (24″/27″). Resolution is 1920 x 1080 and contrast ratio is 1,000:1.

The S22F350FHU uses a TN panel, and has 170°/160° viewing angles and 200 cd/m² of brightness. Both other units use PLS (Samsung’s IPS) panels, with 178° viewing angles. Brightness is 250 cd/m°.

VGA and HDMI ports are featured. Unusually for a business monitor, the displays only feature tilt (-1° – 22°), without height adjustment.

Samsung is selling the monitors now, for €100 (22″), €135 (24″) and €190 (27″), ex VAT.
