Samsung Delays Bixby Voice

The Samsung Bixby voice assistant is not being shipped with the Galaxy S8 as originally planned. The digital assistant, which was announced last month, is a bit different than Siri or Google Now, as not only is it a voice assistant, but it also helps with text and camera-powered queries.

Samsung has declared that the Bixby voice assistant will be unavailable to US customers until later this spring. However, the other Bixby features, called Bixby Home, will be available.

The company has made a dash to enter the voice assistant market after its October 2016 acquisition of Viv Labs. The original launch announcement for Bixby voice was that voice controls would be integrated into some key native apps with a limited number of languages.
