Samsung Augments Reality With Contact Lens Display

The Korea Intellectual Property Office has granted Samsung a patent for contact lenses with a tiny display and built-in camera, as well as sensors that detect movement. The ‘eye-mount display’ projects images onto a wearer’s retina, irrespective of the focal distance, and would be used for augmented reality. Samsung says that the system could have a much wider field of view than projection-type smart glasses. Input would be achieved through blinking.
