Samsung Announces “Galaxy Life Fest” for Fans at This Year’s South by Southwest Interactive

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. announced today its first-ever Galaxy Life Fest – a three-day music event created for Galaxy owners and SXSW Interactive, Gold and Platinum badge holders, premiering at this year’s South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Interactive. The event will feature some of today’s hottest acts including Public Enemy and the debut live performance from ColleGrove, the new superstar duo composed of 2 Chainz & Lil Wayne, with more to be announced soon.

“This year at SXSW, we wanted to create an entirely new platform to give back to our owners and fans in a way that felt bigger and better than anything we’ve done before,” said Marc Mathieu, chief marketing officer at Samsung Electronics America. “The Galaxy Life Fest is set to be an unprecedented three-day experience, with unmatched performances and rewards exclusively for our owners and accessible only through their Galaxy devices.”

Galaxy Life Fest is just one of many ways Samsung is looking to reward its most loyal fans and users – an unforgettable experience with the best devices to capture it on. Using a Galaxy device, fans can unlock the opportunity to attend the Galaxy Life Fest through one of two ways: existing Galaxy owners can visit the Samsung Studio on the morning of a performance to receive their wristband for entrance to that evening’s show, or consumers who purchase the Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge at the Samsung Retail Pop-Up inside the Samsung Studio in Austin will receive an all-access pass to all three days of music festivals. Additional details on how to obtain access to the festival are available at the Samsung Studio.

The Samsung Galaxy Life Fest will take place from Friday, March 11 and continue through Sunday, March 13. Festivalgoers can visit http://galaxylifefest.com/ to sign up for updates on performers.

Samsung Studio at SXSW

Samsung once again will have the Samsung Studio – the consumer destination for access to exclusive events, unforgettable experiences, and special rewards for Samsung Galaxy owners. Samsung Studio will also have a retail pop-up and chance to experience the all-new Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Gear 360 and Gear VR.

Throughout the festival, the Samsung Studio will host a wide range of daily programing including panels and events. In addition, consumers will have the opportunity to check out the Gear VR Experience and demo Samsung’s 4D VR chairs that offer motion simulation to create an immersive sensory experience.

The Samsung Retail Pop-Up in partnership with Best Buy will be open for business where consumers will have the opportunity to get hands-on with the newest innovations, purchase mobile products and accessories, and receive product support. Consumers who purchase a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge device will receive the ultimate ticket to attend every Samsung event throughout the festival.

Located at 333 E 2nd Street in Austin, TX, the Samsung Studio will be open daily from 11 AM CT – 6 PM CT, March 11-15. For consumers not attending SXSW Interactive, Samsung 837– located in the heart of New York’s Meatpacking District – will be livestreaming the action throughout the festival.
