Samsung and LG are gearing up to reveal their next-generation TVs at next month’s CES 2018 trade show in Las Vegas, according to a report from ETNews.
Samsung is apparently preparing to unveil a super-sized QLED TV with a screen diameter larger than 100″, plus the company’s first 8K QLED TV. There is also further fuel to the previous rumours that Samsung will also be taking the opportunity to show a 150″ micro LED display, as well as reintroducing local dimming in its LCD TVs, with a view to achieving deeper blacks more in line with OLED.
Meanwhile, LG is expected to launch its Crystal Sound OLED, featuring the innovative speaker-less audio technology first seen in the Sony A1. The Crystal Sound OLED can reportedly track the position of viewers and adjust the direction of the sound accordingly. LG is also believed to be bringing its “wallpaper” OLED TVs, including a rollable TV.
