Samsung and Igel Produce Thin Client Displays

Samsung TC222L LCD monitorSamsung, working with Igel, has expanded its thin client monitor line, releasing a new unit in two sizes. The TC2x2L line (21.5″ TC222L and 23.5″ TC242L) run Linux and use Igel’s Universal Management Suite 5 platform. This can be used to automatically apply configuration adjustments to all thin clients throughout a company.

Embedded Igel software enables multi-protocol connectivity to mainstream VDI environments and cloud resources, such as Citrix and VMWare. An additional tool is built in to enable remote configuration, monitoring, reporting and administrative automation.

An AMD GX-212 1.2GHz dual-core processor runs Linux, with an AMD Radeon RSE GPU, 2GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. VGA, RJ45 and USB (x6) inputs are featured, as well as a DVI output.

Both monitors were shown at the recent Citrix Synergy conference.
