China Times claims that Samsung Display is aiming to lower the price premium of its small- and medium-sized AMOLED displays to within 10% of that of LCD displays next year. Currently, the screens are about 30% more expensive than comparable LCD units. The opening of new G5.5 facilities are expected to increase SDC’s capacity and help the company to lower prices.
