Samsung has abandoned its plan to redesign the TV remote (‘Project PX’), according to Variety. The company had wanted to replace the remote with a dedicated tablet, using technology gained following the acquisition of Boxee in 2013. One source told Variety that the plan was controversial, as it was being run from the USA and kept secret from the TV team in Korea. There were also issues with content partners.
