Russian Signage Climate Plummets

The Digital Signage Business Climate Index (DBCI) in Russia, polled by OVAB Europe, has fallen dramatically since the last survey in September: from 28.85 base points to -22.74.

While the business situation in Russia is currently satisfactory, expectations for the next six months are highly negative. The main reason for this is the tumbling rouble exchange rate and a freeze in government-financed projects, which form the bulk of signage projects in the country. Oil prices are also under pressure.

The result of the above is a negative outlook by Russian signage stakeholders. 22.7% of the surveyed industry representatives rate their current business as negative and 54.5% expect their business to get worse in the next six months.
