Industry sources have revealed that notebooks incorporating Intel’s next CPU will miss their scheduled release window, according to Digitimes. Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo had all planned to release new products featuring the technology during the second half of 2018, but delays at Intel mean that the hardware won’t be ready in time.
Consequently, research and development at notebook ODMs in Taiwan has ground to a halt, while vendors have adjusted their shipment targets and new product pricing downwards, the site reports. Without a new CPU on the market, replacement demand is weakened, Digitimes says.
