Razer Phone Boosts Refresh to 120Hz

Razer unveiled the Razer Phone, an Android smartphone that is designed for game play. The phone has a 5.72″ 2560 x 1440 (QuadHD) IGZO LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate and using an adaptive frame rate to eliminate tearing. The display has Gorilla Glass 3 and is said to have a wide colour gamut.

The processor is a Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with a generous 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable). Audio support include Dolby Atmos with stereo front facing speakers and a THX-certified USB Type-C connection (but no 3.5mm audio jack).

The battery is a 4,000 mAh unit and the body is 8mm thick. There are dual 12MP rear cameras.

Razer has teamed with game companies to get support for the high frame rate and partners include Square Enix and Tencent.

In Europe, Three will be the exclusive partner and will launch in the UK & Ireland, Denmark and Sweden.

Pricing in the US is $699.
