Qualcomm Denies Snapdragon Issues

LG chose the Snapdragon 808 chip to power its G4 smartphone, providing more fuel to fire the rumours of overheating that have plagued the Snapdragon 810 (Samsung Drops Qualcomm). Qualcomm has since spoken out to deny the rumours; marketing head Tim McDonough told CNet that the decision to use the 808 was made “over a year ago”. LG has also joined in, noting that the G Flex 2 uses the 810 and has suffered no problems. Meanwhile, an analyst at Taiwan-based Yuanta Securities Investment Consulting has blamed the 810 for lower-than-expected sales of HTC’s One M9 smartphone.
