Pyramid Computer GmbH has entered the UltraHD age with the announcement of the Polytouch 55 4k – a 55″ display for digital signage, which also incorporates embedded touch (10 points) with pressure-sensing.
The LFD uses an Intel Skylake Core i7 processor (quad-core, 3.1GHz). This fast integration of the new platform is because Pyramid is an Intel Platinum Partner, with early access to pre-production models of the Skylake chips. The processor is compatible with Linux, Windows 8 and Windows 10.
The 55″ display has a 4,000:1 contrast ratio and 450 cd/m² of brightness. Touch response time is sub-15ms. Intel HD 4600 graphics are integrated, and 8GB of RAM is installed in the set, as well as a 256GB SSD.
More information on the display will be available when it is launched at a London event in late October.
