Public display turnover will see a CAGR of 18.2% from 2016 to 2021, according to IHS Markit. This translates to an increase from $6 billion (3.1 billion units) in 2016 to $13.7 billion by 2021 (5.1 million). Growth will be driven by demand for larger displays.
The researcher predicts that, by 2019, over half of sales will be of screens bigger than 65″, with displays of between 80″ and 89″ showing the fastest growth. The education sector is expected to see a significant increase in interactive flat panels, while LCDs are the most installed displays in the corporate sector, with conference room displays seen as an important asset.
