The Dune HD Solo 4k is a new media player for digital signage, based on Sigma Designs’ SMP8758 processor. It is the first Dune HD player with HEVC support, and can show content in up to 10-bit colour. A DVB-T/T2 tuner is built in, as well as a hot-swappable 2.5″ HDD. As well as dual-band WiFi, the media player has a dual boot feature: it can start in either Linux or Android. Dune HD will launch the player in February, for €240.

We have heard that LeTV‘s ‘Super TV Max 70’ TV uses a 70″ panel from Sharp. Corning’s Iris Glass is also used in the TV, as a light guide plate. The TV is available in China now, and costs CNY11,960 ($1,840).

Palmer Luckey, founder and CEO of Oculus VR, has confirmed that long-awaited oculus Rift headset will be released to consumers in Q1’16.
