Two companies have announced their plans for ISE 2016, taking place in Amsterdam from the 9th – 12th February. 2016 will be the first year that the show has run for four days instead of three.
Peerless-AV (11.E70) will introduce new indoor and outdoor totems for digital signage, showing them for the first time in Europe. Among the models on show will be a floor-standing portrait-style kiosk, available as a standalone model or with an integrated display, media player and other components. This product supports displays between 40″ and 75″, and can be custom finished.
Also on display will a new Xtreme Outdoor Portrait Kiosk. Housing a media player and 47″/55″ IP68-rated screen, the kiosk is itself is IP65-compliant, fully sealed and protected against dust and moisture. A thermal systems prevents overheating or freezing, and optical bonding means that the screens can be viewed in direct sunlight. The kiosk will be available in single and back-to-back versions.
An 85″ UltraHD touchscreen will be shown by Zytronic (8.E210), as well as a curved multi-touch kiosk. The company will also demonstrate a new object-recognition function for touchscreens. The 85″ screen will be a bespoke unit, capable of recognising up to 40 touch points at once.
A proof-of-concept unit, the curved kiosk features an edge-to-edge, printed, toughened and curved glass touch interface. Zytronic will combine a 40″ main display with a 19″ secondary screen – housed under the same glass – used as a button deck. Finally, the company’s new object-recognition functionality is aimed at touch tables, and based on procap technology.
Zytronic’s displays are commercially-available units, to which Zytronic attaches its custom touch sensors. We did ask if the new products to be shown at ISE would have any ‘standard’ specifications, but were told not.
