Planar Systems Inc. reported a second quarter net profit of $1.6 million on turnover of $49.1 million, which compares with a net profit $228,000 on turnover of $41.1 million. For the first six months of the year, the company’s net profit was $4.7 million on turnover of $104.9 million, while for the corresponding period of last year Planar’s net profit was $858,000 on turnover of $81.5 million. In Q2, digital signage product sales increased 32% year on year to $24.9 million, while commercial and industrial product sales were 10% higher at $24.2 million.
