Planar Systems, Inc. has reported its fourth quarter and full year results, posting a net profit in Q4 of $2.2 million on turnover of $53.6 million, which compares with a net loss of $207,000 in the final quarter of the prior year, on turnover of $45.7 million. For the year, Planar swung into a net profit of $3.8 million from a net loss in the previous year of $6.5 million, while turnover for the year was 7.3% higher at $179 million from $166.8 million. Planar said that its digital signage sales in Q4 increased 42% year on year to $25.2 million, which also generated higher gross profit rates compared to the same quarter a year earlier.
