The seven-year smartphone patent infringement battle between Apple and Samsung has come to an end. The exact circumstances around the closing of the case haven’t been disclosed but last month, Samsung was ordered by a US court to pay Apple $539 million.
In 2011, Apple launched a suit against Samsung for infringing iPhone patents in its smartphone design, claiming $2 billion in damages. Several suits, counter-suits and appeals later, with victories awarded to both sides in courts all over the world, the case is closed.
