Panasonic Corporation posted Q2 net profits of ¥70.1 billion ($614 million), down 33% from ¥104.3 billion ($914 million) this time last year, on sales of ¥1.99 trillion ($17.5 billion), up 13% from ¥1.77 trillion ($15.5 billion). For the half year there were profits of ¥126.0 billion ($1.1 billion), down from ¥144.9 billion ($1.3 billion), on revenue which rose to ¥3.86 trillion ($33.8 billion) from ¥3.54 trillion ($31.0 billion). The company attributed the increase in sales to significant growth in automotive-related business.
